A formation of hardened tissue in the penis, which causes
pain, distortion and curvature during erection, indicates
symptoms of the Peyronie’s disease. The plaque develops
on the upper or lower side of the penis in layers containing
erectile tissue. It begins as a localized inflammation
and can develop into a hardened scar. In many cases, curves
and pains result in erectile dysfunction. If there are
several areas of plaque incomplete erection may occur.
What causes Peyronie’s?
The causes of Peyronie’s disease are unknown. But
let us analyze a few of them.
Trauma or injury
Doctors differ in their opinion when some declare the
root cause of Peyronie's as trauma related. Others point
out some injury or damage of nerves in the pelvic region
as the main cause of disease.
Autoimmune disorder and collagen abnormality
Men’s immune system may not respond normally in many
cases. Connective tissue abnormality can also be another
cause.
Medications
Blood pressure and heart medications cause side effects
like Peyronie’s disease in some men. Seek doctor’s
advice before it gets too late.
Signs and symptoms
1. Painful erection
2. A bend or curve in your penis during erection
3. Inflammation under the skin of your penis that develops
into hardened scar tissue
4. A thick band of hard tissue on one or more sides of
your penis
5. Narrowing of the diameter of your penis during erection
6. Impaired ability to obtain an erection (erectile dysfunction)
Peyronie’s disease relate to men’s sexual health.
It can trouble you with constant pains and difficulties,
which initiates erectile dysfunction. Meet a doctor when
you doubt a disease. The earlier the treatment, the lesser
will be the damage to your sexual health.
